Juventus Bring In Ex- Italy Boss Luciano Spalletti

The Serie A powerhouse have chosen ex- Italy head coach the veteran manager as their manager for the remainder of the campaign.

Spalletti takes over from Igor Tudor, who was dismissed after the Serie A side's defeat by Lazio last weekend.

The former boss came on board in March filling the shoes of Thiago Motta but left after seven months following a string of eight matches without a victory.

Under Spalletti, Napoli clinched the Serie A championship in 2022-23 before taking charge of Italy, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.

He helped them qualify for Euro 2024 exiting in the last 16 stage against Switzerland.

Nonetheless, Italy dismissed Spalletti in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, as Italy faced the possibility of not making a third World Cup in a row.

Spalletti has also managed Inter Milan, Roma and Udinese in Serie A and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.

Juventus were temporarily led by Massimo Brambilla for their 3-1 win against Udinese on Wednesday moving them to seventh position in the league - six points behind leaders Napoli after nine games.

In the Champions League, they sit 25th in the league phase, having lost once and drawn twice in their opening three matches.
