I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's bout.

Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
